Great Lake Cruising

 

My recent trip home to Michigan was wonderful. It's a beautiful area with a lot to offer. I enjoyed spending time with my loved ones and exploring the local area.

The first stop, Grosse Pointe, is a particularly beautiful part of Lake St. Clair. The houses there are known for their stunning architecture and luxurious amenities. Many of the houses are located on the waterfront, offering stunning views of the lake.

As I traveled north to where I grew up, along Anchor Bay, it was a scenic experience. The road winds along the coastline, offering stunning views of the water and the surrounding countryside. To the left, you'll see the sparkling blue waters of Lake St. Clair. On a bright day, you can see all the way to Canada. To the right are historic small towns with canals and wetlands where there are plenty of places to stop along the way to enjoy the scenery, shop, or grab a bite to eat.

We stop in St Clair for lunch along the St Clair River. The views of the freighters gliding along the waters brought back memories of staying at my father's home and being lulled to sleep by these great ships making their way down the river.
